The street was quiet.
Then the sound broke the silence.
A loud, desperate meow echoed through the air. High above the ground, an orange tabby cat was stuck on power cables wrapped around a wooden utility pole. Its small body trembled as it tried to keep its balance, paws gripping the wires that were never meant to hold it.
People gathered below, looking up.
The cat cried again.
Moments later, a fire truck pulled in. A firefighter stepped out, already pulling on protective gloves and helmet. He looked up, measuring the height, then moved toward the pole without hesitation.
Slowly, carefully, he began to climb.
Every step was steady. Every movement was calm. The cat watched him approach, eyes wide, body pressed close to the pole.
When he reached the top, the firefighter spoke softly.
He extended his arms and gently lifted the cat away from the wires, holding it securely against his chest. The cat stopped struggling. Its breathing slowed.
The firefighter began the descent.
Down the pole, step by step, carrying the small orange body safely in his arms.
When his boots touched the ground, a second orange tabby ran forward — waiting.
The firefighter knelt down and placed the rescued cat beside the other.
Two small cats sat side by side, calm, safe, together again.
The crowd exhaled.

Some simply climb — to bring a small life back to the ground.
