Soon after, the woman turned and walked toward a city bus that had just arrived nearby. The elderly man now sat warmer, holding his dog close. The dog’s eyes followed the woman as she approached the bus. The doors opened. Cold breath hung visibly in the winter air.

As she prepared to step onto the bus, a suspicious man suddenly grabbed her handbag and tried to run. She gasped in shock, stumbling slightly as he pulled away. The moment was chaotic — fast, tense, unexpected.
